NEW!

2025. A long hiatus. And ironic, now that I think of it, that one of the first creations to emerge from this would be a snail. The inspiration came slowly indeed. As I often do, I challenged myself to use materials at hand instead of thinking I had to compulsively seek out new patterns and beads. It stands about 9 inches high. Three delivered to ArtHound Gallery, in Essex, VT.

Covid 2020 – 2021. Embrace isolation as a time for renewed resourcefulness. The challenge: Design something new using only what’s at hand now. An unused wardrobe rod sliced into large buttons, curtains and tablecloths purchased at a second hand store long before the pandemic, and several pairs of hiking boot laces turned into a new style of pouch that has since become a signature design in my collection. Creating with a sense of stretching myself during the pandemic was just plain, good medicine.

I am taking a new direction with figurine animals. I’ve worked with papier-mâché for over 20 years, but hand-sewn creations are my favorite by far. I’ll be experimenting with sewn bodies and wire as I develop a new line of playful bird figurines. This is my first batch.
